Known around the world as a Hollywood icon, the Hollywood Walk of Fame has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in America. More than 2700 brass and terrazzo stars are embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Blvd and 3 blocks of Vine St. in Hollywood, CA. The stars bear the names of a variety of actors, directors, producers, musicians, theatrical and musical groups, fictitious characters and others. These stars are permanent monuments honoring achievement in the entertainment industry.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is centered at the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and Vine St. in Hollywood, CA 90028. This popular attraction is in a district of Los Angeles that became known for its abundance of radio and movie related businesses in the 1920’s during the “Golden Age of Hollywood”.
Many people observe the sidewalk embedded stars by taking a walking tour of the 15 block-long entertainment attraction. The public is invited to attend one of the various ceremonies held there throughout the year. They are free to attend and no tickets or admission fees are required. A public viewing area is provided for all ceremonies.
Grab lunch at one of the many area restaurants such as Umami Burger, Off Vine or Doomie’s. Then catch a Broadway Show at the historical Pantages Theater. If you’re into sightseeing, hop on a bus for an iconic tour of L.A., Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Don’t miss an opportunity to take a glimpse of the famous Hollywood sign!
