Cabrillo Marine Aquarium has the largest collection of Southern California marine life in the world. With 21,000 square feet of exploration, there is nothing short of education and amusement for you. From the touch tanks to the amazing blue whale, there are plenty of things to see here. You can also check the websites for upcoming events, such as the “Little Squirts” program for toddlers ages 2-4 and tide pool walks.
Going through the Southern California Marine Habitat Exhibit, you see what the creatures see when they are in their natural habitats. If you choose to go through Kelp Forest, you may see a purple urchin or even a sea lion! The Aquatic Nursery is your opportunity to get your fill on all the cute baby sea creatures that your heart desires!
Being located centrally in the area of San Pedro, CA, there are plenty of choices for you once you complete your tour of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Nearby, you can find the Los Angeles Maritime Museum and the Port of Los Angeles. If you don’t gravitate towards either of those, you could always try the drum barracks and the civil war museum.
