What To Do At The Los Angeles Zoo?

Within the zoo, there are over 7,000 species of plants, 2,200 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish represented, where 60 or more are endangered. With Zoologists and other staff scattered around the park, you can ask any question you have about the animal you are watching. You can be transported by visiting the Elephants of Asia exhibit, seeing the gentle giants up close and personal.

From the Fennec Fox to the Nigerian pygmy goat to the Mertin’s water monitor, you have plenty of animals to learn about and see. During the Christmas season, there is an event named Animals Aglow that allows you to visit the park at night to see everything from a different perspective.

What Else To Do After The Zoo

Nearby, you can go see the old grounds of the zoo that also has hiking trails. You can explore the ruins of the old zoo, see the trails throughout the zoo from an overgrown perspective. For the children, who aren’t yet tired out, you can visit the Children’s park around the corner or Amir’s Garden. If you packed a picnic, the Mineral Wells Picnic Area is the perfect area to enjoy a meal with friends or family. If you are looking for something more well known, you can go visit the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios or the Hollywood walk of fame.
